BISCA Awards 2023 – Celebrating Goodness

The British Imams and Scholars Contributions & Achievements (BISCA) is a non-sectarian, non-political and non-profit community venture to highlight positive work of British Imams and Scholars.

British Imams and Scholars undertake excellent and often unrecognised work, striving to make our communities and society a better place for everyone. In light of this the British Imams & Scholars Contributions & Achievements (BISCA), this year supported by The BBSI are hosting a fantastic event to highlight and celebrate some of their wonderful work. It will be held on Friday 3rd February in London at the Atrium venue from 5:30 PM – 9:30 PM and promises to be a great evening.

Imams and Scholars have a key role in British communities and our society as a whole. As we would expect they provide much needed religious guidance; however their role encompasses much more than that. Their skills reach beyond ‘simply’ the ‘religious’ realm and they have an excellent grasp of modern society and the challenges people are facing. Many hold qualifications in other fields, such as medicine, engineering, management, psychology, mental health and counselling.

Muslim leaders engage with the youth, teach children, counsel people on their personal issues, volunteer on initiatives, such as to feed the poor and needy and engage with people from other faiths. Examples include charity work with the homeless, campaigns to protect the environment and to prevent the closure of local public services.

On the night awards will be given out to British Imams and Scholars who have made an outstanding contribution in areas such as chaplaincy work, community cohesion, inter-faith etc will be based on nominations given by members of the public who have felt an Imam or Scholar deserves recognition based on the categories selected by BISCA.

BISCA hopes to see you there on what will be an evening to remember.
